Are there fees for consultants or requirements to create and maintain a consultant profile on Clora's Marketplace?
Signing up is entirely free with no obligations. You can sign up here and create your consultant profile on Clora's Marketplace.
Our resume parsing and AI-enabled technology help you build a robust profile quickly, highlighting your technical expertise (e.g. functional areas, therapeutic areas, indications, modalities/product tech, etc), availability, and preferences. You’ll then receive proactive notifications when high-fit opportunities arise.
I want to moonlight. I'm new or considering consulting. Will Clora work for me?
Yes! We support biotech and pharma consultants at all stages:
Professionals who have recently started consulting and are building their client network.
Professionals transitioning, or considering the transition, into consulting.
Full-time professionals seeking flexible, project-based work (e.g. moonlighting).
I have other clients I consult for already. Will Clora work for me?
Yes! We support seasoned independent consultants with existing clients looking for additional work with new clients. There are no minimum hours or requirements to give you complete flexibility. We're here when you need us.
Do I need an LLC?
No, you do not. Whether you're operating as individuals (e.g. sole contributor) or through C or S-corp, we're happy to welcome you to the Clora Marketplace!
Do you provide liability insurance?
Since the majority of engagements are 1099 (not W-2), we do not offer liability insurance to independent consultants. It is up to each consultant to carry enough business professional insurance based on the services you are offering. Due to differences in how much, for example, an MD who tackles interim-CMO responsibilities should carry vs. what a CRA would carry, Clora does not have a required minimum limit for consultants.
A few clients, per their organization's policy, may require a minimum coverage amount. We will communicate that minimum when you apply to an applicable client's project.
Do you provide benefits?
Since the majority of engagements are 1099 (not W-2), we do not offer health or other common full-time employment benefits.
What kind of companies does Clora work with?

I do not see the Client name on the project post. When will you disclose the name of the company?
Projects on Clora's Marketplace do not display the name of the Client. We do not disclose the name of the company until a consultant during a project vetting call with the assigned Clora rep for that project.
Once you submit your initial application, the assigned Clora rep will personally review your application. If we think you are a potential high-fit for the project, we will reach out to coordinate a project vetting call. This call is split into 2 parts:
Clora learning more about you beyond what's on your resume/CV.
Clora giving you more information about the project scope and Company to confirm that there is no conflict of interest.
It is during the second portion where we will disclose the name of the company if the consultant is a promising fit for the project.
How will I get paid?
Once a Consultant is hired by a Client, Clora handles payments and invoicing on a monthly cycle. You will invoice for your time through Clora's Timesheets portal. Once you have wrapped up work within a given month, you will submit your timesheet. This will be sent to your hiring manager or appointed timesheet reviewer. The Client will have 5 business days to review. Once approved, Clora's finance team will handle officially invoicing the client's AP/AR group.
The timer starts when the Client approves the timesheet. Clients will have on average 30 days to send payment to Clora first. The exact payment terms will be outlined in the unique Statement of Work you sign with the Client and Clora. These can vary from 15-30 days.
Once Clora obtains payment, we will promptly process payment to the Consultant. To account for weekends, bank holidays, etc, on average this turnaround will be 5 days.
Clora leverages Bill.com to track and process payment to Consultants. Clora's finance team will send you an invite to Bill.com when you match with a Clora client the first time, where you will be able to verify your financial details, choose payment method, and track payment.
How will I get paid?
Tax forms will come from Clora, not the Client, and will currently arrive via Track1099.
