We've compiled a list of best practices when wrapping up a project to ensure a smooth and positive end to your experience working together.

  • Understand what specific deadlines and deliverables need to be met or delivered before the project ends

  • Stay on top of communication with your hiring manager until the engagement is fully completed

  • Calendarize any meetings necessary to complete the engagement

  • Align with your hiring manager on how many hours you will be working as you wrap up. Some projects ramp down quickly, and some are more gradual. This can also help you budget time for your next engagement

  • Return all company materials (i.e. company badge, laptop, etc.)

    • If a laptop shipment box is not provided and/or you do not have the original, consider ordering this alternative or similar.

    • Remember to expense shipping costs in your last timesheet if not prepaid by the employer.

  • Have an off-boarding call with your hiring manager to discuss your performance and any feedback you want to share with them

  • Submit your final timesheet by the 2nd day of the following month (or as soon as your work ends)

    • Check your SOW for any hourly or payment maximums per month and make sure you know who to contact if you are approaching those limits before the end of the project

  • Don’t forget to update your Clora profile with any new accomplishments or skill sets you developed during this project
