We’ve matched a lot of consultants and employers in our time. Over the years, we’ve developed a list of best practices when it comes to onboarding with an employer that will ensure a smooth and positive work experience. Ultimately, a positive relationship benefits your experience and all the work you are doing!
Make sure you have access to all of the platforms, apps and technology you will need
Will you be getting a company email or badge? Laptop?
Will you need VPN access? Authenticator apps/security?
Meet the internal team you will be working with and external teams as needed (i.e CROs, vendors)
Who is your day-to-day contact person?
Who should you escalate to if questions or concerns arise?
Confirm how your hiring manager prefers to communicate (email, phone, Slack, text, etc)
Check your spam folder to ensure no emails are getting placed there (from the employer or from Clora)
Calendarize any regular meetings
Discuss with your Hiring Manager what milestones you are expected to achieve and any specific deadlines that you need to know
Confirm that your timesheet meets the level of detail your hiring manager needs in order to approve to avoid payment delays.
If this is your first time working with Clora, submit your W-9 form and set up Bill.com to receive payments. Our Finance team can assist with this process
Book a 1st Monthly Checkin with your talent and customer success representative. They will assist with questions and concerns to make sure it’s a valuable and productive experience for you
Complete monthly surveys so Clora understands how your project is progressing. You will be prompted immediately after submitting your timesheet.
Confirm you can access the My Timesheet portal on Clora
Confirm with your Hiring Manager how detailed they want your monthly timesheets to be
Do you need to reference any cost centers or specific deliverables in the descriptions?
We highly recommend you update your timesheet on a weekly basis!
Meet periodically to develop a good-faith estimate of your monthly hours
Submit your monthly timesheet by the 2nd of the following month
Check your SOW for any hourly or payment maximums per month and make sure you know who to contact if you are approaching those limits
